Windows XP Slow?
Tips for better performance
By default Windows XP is set for appearance and not performance. Simply change the settings will greatly reduce the wait time.
- Find MY COMPUTER in the START menu.
- RIGHT mouse click on it and select PROPERTIES from the menu
- Click on the ADVANCED tab on the upper right
- Click on the SETTINGS button
- Check the radio button ADJUST FOR BEST PERFORMANCE

Save and close the window.
In addition, delete the TEMP files under EACH user and in c:\windows\temp
